How- To: Wear All White Stylishly Taking A Cue From Mercy Aigbe Gentry

It is definitely save to say WHITE IS THE NEW BLACK.
Just forget your go-to LBD (Little Black Dress) and gun for your white ensembles. The fashion industry is leaning towards the other end of the colour palette. That's right people, it's time to break out your whites (if you haven't already). And while we love a good contrasting combo, there's nothing 'chicer' than going monochromatic. Taking a cue from the lovely yoruba actress Mercy Aigbe Gentry's effortless chic all white ensemble, we at SOCIAL SPY NG are going to make sure you don't look like a nurse, doctor, or surgeon in uniform.

Stick to the basics:
Looking at the outfit above, one can easily see that Mercy looks effortless and chic. A simple white shirt and fitted jeans tucked in with nude heels would do no wrong. Her ombre extensions add colour to her look, accessorizing with stud earrings, over-sized sunglasses, a bracelet and rings, she pulled her outfit together and you can do the same.
Like i said earlier, basics are key when starting out. A t-shirt paired with high-waist pants and white heels to step it up a notch but you could do flats as well.
This look is just as fresh and fashion forward as any complicated mixed-print outfit.

Add An Accent Colour:
Nothing makes a monochromatic look pop like the addition of a contrasting hue. Mercy Aigbe Gentry in the picture above shows how well she understands this tip by contrasting her all white with a yellow Chanel Lego Box purse, and the result is the perfect mix of retro and modern.
Again, adding the black details to her white brought life to her outfit, remember, less is more.

Break it up:
The use of the floral patterned jacket to break up this all-white ensemble is absolute, it gives a feminine touch to the rugged jeans and basic tank. And the colours of the jacket play well against the neutral board of all-white.
Can WE just say Mercy's whole outfit is pure genius? The key is the dungarees. It is not only a great way to break up an all-white ensemble but it also adds the perfect touch of edge to an otherwise preppy look.

Glam-It-Up:
Talk about the Egyptian goddess and Mercy Aigbe Gentry appears all glammed up from the hair on her head to the polish on her nails. She didn't have to go overboard with the jewelry and accessorizing to make a statement, she let the dress speak for itself, a little colour was added but nothing over-the-top which made the dress stand out.
Again, it's all about accessorizing and she didn't get it wrong her as well. This outfit was all about the white and metallic palette.
Obviously, we are big fans of Mercy Aigbe Gentry's all-white looks and we hope you were able to learn a thing or two.

TIPS:
White goes with about anything, so feel free to get creative.
Just make sure you use an iron- wrinkles can be super noticeable on white.
Check to see any lines/shapes from pockets and have a tailor remove them to make it neat as white shadows anything and everything underneath.
Stay clear of dirt, i.e. hugging the girl with heavy foundation and concealer, resting on the wall, sitting on a coloured surface, etc. Just as lovely as wearing white can be, it can also be very frustrating to keep up with.

So there you have it... Which outfit will you be trying first?
