Top10 Good Girls Gone Bad

It’s not breaking news that a staggering amount of money, power and fame at a very young age can cause stars to feel invincible and as a result, make some not so good decisions. We’ve seen it happen with promising young talents like Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, Amy Winehouse and most recently Mischa Barton, who has been making headlines for some very disturbing behavior.

Here, we’ve compiled 10 good girls gone bad—some of whom managed to conquer their demons and emerge triumphant, some that we are still watching with compassion, and some who passed away before their time. So let’s get to it. 

10) Rihanna 

Didn’t the starlet look like butter wouldn’t melt in 2005? RiRi was so good (until she went so bad), that she even named her chart-topping 2007 album after her naughty transformation (Good Girl Gone Bad). To coincide with the release of her third studio record, RiRi decided it was time for an image-overhaul. The star chopped her lengthy locks into a raven-black and pillar-box red buzz-cut and invested heavily in leather. The result? Rihanna Rated R! Fierce.

9) Christina Aguilera

 

Fresh from the Mickey Mouse club, Christina was all baby-blonde and bubblegum when she first hit the charts with Genie In A Bottle in 1999. But fast-forward a few years and Xtina went all Dirrrty on us! The starlet developed a penchant for dreadlocks, ass-less chaps and simulating lesbian love. Although she’s toned down the dirrrtiness now she’s a wife and mother, Christina’s still a long, long way from the teen dream she once was.

8) Vanessa Hudgens

With her megawatt smile and princess locks, teen dream Vanessa became part of Disney’s most profitable franchise and one half of Hollywood’s cutest couple when she joined High School Musical and hook. So you can imagine Mickey Mouse’s surprise when those nude snaps hit the web. They were intended for Zac’s eyes only - but still, no one would ever look at Gabriella in quite the same way again.

7) Taylor Momsen

Remember little blue-eyed, baby  blonde Cindy Lou Who from How The Grinch Stole Christmas…? Well she grew up to be Taylor Momsen - a grungy, heavy-kohled, suspender-sporting mound of teenage angst. Who’d have thought that Gossip Girl’s resident bad girl and The Pretty Reckless’ rocking lead singer would have once auditioned for Hannah Montana!

6) Miley Cyrus

Megawatt-smiled Hannah Montana wouldn’t dream of causing controversy with saucy snaps and dirty dancing, would she? With her Disney princess days behind her, Miley is shedding her cute ‘tween image and nowadays, she Can’t Be Tamed. As well hitting the headlines for a number of controversial photos, including that Vanity Fair shoot (not to mention flashing her bra and indulging in a little ‘lap-dancing’), Miley raised eyebrows around the world over when she imitated kissing a female dancer on stage at Britain’s Got Talent, whilst wearing hotpants and fishnets. What would Billy Ray say?

5) Mischa Barton

Mischa rocketed to fame in the Noughties playing beautiful but troubled California girl Marissa Cooper in The O.C. But sadly, life was soon imitating art, and Mischa mug shots were splashed across the tabloids as the starlet went off the rails. DUI charges - the Hollywood misdemeanour du jour - followed, and Mischa is yet to secure the role to rival ‘Marissa’ and rocket her back into the spotlight…for the right reasons.

4) Katie Price

Back when Katie was Mrs. Andre, the glamour model put ‘Jordan’ into an early retirement and focused on her new role as wife, mother and bonafide nation’s sweetheart. But once the fairytale was over and the split confirmed, Katie’s princess frocks were locked away and Jordan’s teeny bikinis came back out to play. Hanging at parties with Kesha...... And we all know what Kesha was good for in those days........ Grrrr.

3) Britney Spears

The original bubblegum-pop princess, Britney burst onto the scene in 1999, all pigtails and ‘promise’ rings, when ‘risqué’ meant a flash of midriff. The star was loved-up with her childhood sweetheart, N*SYNC star, Justin Timberlake, and famously vowed to remain a virgin until marriage. But being good got old, and Britney soon went off the rails, famously getting wed in Vegas only to divorce 24 hours later, before stepping outsans underwear, shaving her head, skinny-dipping, skipping court and spells in rehab followed. Britney has since got her life back on track, but that wholesome, dimple-cheeked teen of yesteryear is long gone.

2) Lindsay Lohan

Freckled cutie LiLo was a child model, Disney favourite and Hollywood Teen Queen - the future sure looked bright for Little Miss Lohan. So where did it all go wrong? Lindsay became renowned for her partying habits and was soon attending AA meetings rather than auditions. A role as a foul-mouthed pole dancer in I Know Who Killed Me earned her a Worst Actress Razzie, whilst shedding the Disney teen dream image forever. Two DUI charges later, Lindsay was sentenced to 90 days jail-time in 2010. Here’s hoping the starlet can get her life back on track.

1) Amanda Bynes

Once a promising comedic actress who rose to fame for starring in Nickelodeon's "All That" and "The Amanda Show," Bynes seemed to have flipped out in 2012. During the course of a year, she got in multiple car accidents, got nabbed for DUI, wore numerous ratty wigs, called a number of celebrities "ugly" on Twitter, was arrested for criminal possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence, and reckless endangerment. (She allegedly threw a bong out the window of her NYC apartment.) She also, memorably, stripped down to her strapless push-up bra in a spin class, and started putting on makeup before leaving after 10 minutes.
